Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession focused on restoring movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness, or disability. It uses evidence-based techniques like manual therapy, exercise, education, and advice to aid recovery and prevent future issues. Whether you're managing chronic pain, recovering from surgery, or improving mobility, physiotherapy can support your goals with a personalised treatment plan.
No referral is necessary to book an appointment with a physiotherapist. You can contact us directly to schedule a session. However, if you’re planning to claim through private health insurance or certain insurance schemes, your provider may require a referral—please check with them beforehand.
Your first visit will include a thorough assessment where we discuss your medical history, symptoms, and lifestyle factors. This is followed by a physical examination to identify the cause of your issue. Based on our findings, we’ll create a tailored treatment plan. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows easy movement and access to the area of concern. Bring any relevant medical reports, scans, or referrals (if available). Arrive a few minutes early to fill out any required paperwork, especially for your first visit.
The number of sessions varies depending on the nature and severity of your condition, your personal goals, and how your body responds to treatment. Some patients see improvement within a few sessions, while others may benefit from a longer rehabilitation program. We’ll regularly review your progress and adjust your plan accordingly.
Yes, most private health insurance plans offer cover for physiotherapy services. The amount you can claim and whether a referral is needed depends on your specific policy. We can provide itemised receipts for you to submit to your provider.
We kindly ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your physiotherapy appointment. This allows us to offer the time slot to other clients who may be waiting. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will incur a late cancellation fee or result in the full appointment fee being charged.
Initial Assessments typically last 40 minutes, as we take a full history and perform a detailed evaluation. Follow-up sessions usually run 30 minutes, depending on your treatment needs and goals.
You may experience some discomfort during treatment or exercises, especially if addressing inflamed or tight tissues. However, physiotherapy should not be painful. We always work within your pain tolerance and adapt techniques to keep you comfortable while being effective.
Yes, we specialise in post-operative and injury rehabilitation, including after joint replacements, ligament repairs, and fractures. We work closely with surgeons and physicians to support safe, progressive recovery and return to function.
Yes, Physiotherapy is safe and beneficial during and after pregnancy. Booking Women's Health Physiotherapy will help manage common prenatal issues like pelvic girdle pain, lower back discomfort, and postural strain, and also support postpartum recovery with pelvic floor rehab and core strengthening.
Massage
During your first visit, we’ll begin with a short consultation to understand your health history, preferences, and any areas you'd like us to focus on or avoid. You'll then be given privacy to undress to your comfort level. You'll be properly draped with a sheet or towel during the session, and we’ll check in with you about pressure and comfort. Our goal is to ensure a relaxing and personalized experience.
No, you should undress only to your comfort level. Many clients choose to undress completely, while others prefer to keep undergarments on. You’ll be covered with a sheet or towel throughout the session, and only the area being worked on will be exposed. Your comfort and privacy are always respected.
We kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows will incur a fee, as that time is reserved exclusively for you. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change your booking.

This depends on your needs. For general wellness and stress relief, once a month is common. For chronic tension, injury recovery, or sports performance, weekly or bi-weekly sessions may be recommended. Your therapist will create a personalised plan.
